Shift Manager - Full-time / Part-time

Proven Partners Manufacturing is looking for a Shift Manager to provide leadership on second shift in our Elgin, IL facility. Reporting to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for all aspects of operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to perform and subsequently train each production task effectively.
• Daily Operation – Work with the team to make sure daily production is organized to maximize efficiencies, making necessary adjustments as conditions change.
• Is directly involved in the hiring process, including interviewing, orientation and training.
• Conduct regular meetings with employees to keep them informed of plant and Company activities, objectives and results.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews with employees to measure job performance and expectations.
• Ensure weekly payroll is accurate through daily monitoring of employee clock hours in the payroll system.
• Overall timeliness, efficient plant output, and responsibilities of assigned shift.
• Develop and maintain positive team oriented lines of communication with peers, employees, management, and our customers. Key contact point for employees with operational and employee relations issues.
• Exhibit positive/can-do attitude.
• Supports plant maintenance program by timely reporting of equipment problems and assisting in their correction and improvement.
• Administer and support all Company policies and procedures. Observe and practice all plant safety policies and procedures.
• Always respond to internal and external customer problems with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to use, understand and explain the Warehouse Management System, and any other applicable systems and programs.
• As required, be flexible to assume additional duties such as safety, security, or other Manager’s roles in their absence.
• Maintain/enhance sanitation standards in the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

• B.S. or B.A. college degree or equivalent related experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Experience with continuous improvement programs.
• Experience in plant safety programs.
• Proven effectiveness in positive employee relation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Able to work independently.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Understanding of the use of measurement and analysis in problem solving and investigation.
• Willingness to support internal and external customers by responding to their needs with the appropriate sense of urgency.
