Job Description

A newly created position, the Membership Coordinator will be a part of the Development and Communications team in building a robust and energized membership program that will include individuals with a brain injury, family members, caregivers, advocates, professionals and organizations. Essential Functions: 1- Create a listing of membership prospects across NYS. Research, cultivate and steward new and existing members. 2- Organize membership drives across the state, as well as other activities that will highlight and increase membership such as the organization's Meet and Greets, Advocacy Day and Special Events. 3- Engage with BIANYS chapters in collaboration with chapter leadership. 4- Work with the Director of Development on donor prospecting and engaging members to increase membership and activity. 5- Work in cooperation with the Director of Communications to develop and distribute collateral materials to support the Membership Program. 6- Work on preparation of annual membership budget and ability to gauge fiscal projections. 7- Manage all contacts and contributions with Raiser's Edge.

Qualifications

1- A Bachelor's degree.  Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in a non-profit organization, specifically a membership based organization.  Associates Degree is acceptable with  more experience.

2- Strong sales background a plus.

3- High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.

4- Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants and other supporters.

5- Self-starter, able to work independently, enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.

6- Ability to analyze trends and explain results and make recommendations.

7- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

8- Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

9- Proficiency in MS applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint) and knowledge of Raiser's Edge database a must.

10- Travel around NYS is required.

11- Willingness to work nights and weekends.

12- Must have a valid drivers license and proof of insurance.

13- Ability to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.

14- Subject to a background check.

Position is Non-Exempt  Full time  37.5 hours per week.
