Job Description

We are seeking a Counter Attendant/Salesperson to become an integral part of our team! You will be responsible for selling products, merchandise, and services in a retail setting in order to drive company revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and identify customer needs
  • Explain products and services to customers
  • Monitor inventory to ensure product is in stock
  • Enter and process customer orders
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints

You probably don’t realize this, but Cashiers and servers have the easiest sales job in the world. Salespeople in other industries have to spend time convincing customers that they really do want to buy something. That step is already done for your servers — guests come in to your restaurant ready to buy. They’re hungry. They’re thirsty. They’re just waiting for your servers to sell them what they already want.

Counter Attendants, Cashiers and Food Runners should understand the basics of customer satisfaction. The candidate best suited for this position has good phone etiquette, uses proper english and pronunciation of words. You should demonstrate a love for engaging customers, be welcoming to every single person that walks through the door and know how to read/detect counterfeit money. This position can be for an entry-level candidate or seasoned sales person. The position is part-time only with a starting hourly pay of $10.75/hr. Minimum of 12 hours/week, maximum 24 hours/week.

The culture of OMB is team oriented and task driven. You will get to communicate directly with the customers as our kitchen is open. As a cashier, you are the first point of contact setting the standard for the customer's first visit to the restaurant.

Sanitation, equipment operations, cleaning and organization, understanding of urgency, customer satisfaction and value of a team effort. While working in the kitchen at Oh My Burger you will use your experience greeting, speaking, taking orders, cleaning, sanitizing, assisting others, prepping, grilling, sauteing, and frying proteins and vegetables in various ways. Our proteins are prepared in house, vegetables washed and prepared by hand, juices and milkshakes prepared from fresh fruits and ingredients. There's never a dull moment at OMB and the busy days make you feel like you're on an episode of Cutthroat kitchen.

Most line cooks should have a cooking certificate or at least 6 months of training at a cooking school. Skills required for this position include temperature controls, operating and performing maintenance on kitchen equipment, cooking to specific temperature requests, knife handling, clean cooking and utensil handling standards, time controls, general food knowledge of grilling, searing, sauteing, frying, steaming, juicing, scrubbing and storing food.

Skills for Line Cooks

Skills for Prep Cooks
Prepare and stock the day’s ingredients for each station

Order supplies and ingredients as needed.
Assist staff in cleaning the kitchen and utensils.

Line cooks generally move on to be Sous chefs, Kitchen leads, Grill cooks or Line supervisors. Most cook jobs start pay at $11/hr and can pay up to $14/hr based on experience. Minimum of 16 hours/week, maximum 38 hours/week.

Food preparation workers perform many routine tasks under the direction of cooks, chefs, or food service managers. Food preparation
workers prepare cold foods, slice meat, peel and cut vegetables, brew coffee or tea, and perform many other food service tasks. General duties include making burger patties, slicing bread, mixing sauces, portioning foods, organizing pantry and cold storage, chopping, slicing and dicing of vegetables, restocking, and cleaning. Some experience preferred for speed and efficiency of completing tasks. Shifts are generally part-time, early morning and late evening shifts with an average hourly pay rate of $10.75/hr. Minimum of 20 hours/week, maximum 38 hours/week.
