Warehousing Team Leader

Overview

Warehousing Team Leader is broadly responsible for executing and leading the company’s warehousing, delivery, and logistics processes.  This position formally reports to the General Manager (GM.  This position is directly responsible for Order fulfillment, inventory control, shipping, and receiving.  In addition, the role will support the daily management process by reporting key daily metrics and conducting root cause problem solving.  The team leader will also lead continuous improvement projects as assigned.   FPC’s highest priority is Customer Service; and therefore, this position is expected to assist the inside sales team by answering phones and dealing with customer issues on an “as needed” basis; and to set an example for the rest of the team to further build our culture of providing the “BEST customer service” in the industry.

Responsibilities

1.    Through leadership and example, builds a team culture of “world-class customer service” and the “continuous improvement” business philosophy.
2.    Participates in the company’s Daily Management Process, under direction of the General Manager.
3.    Serves as working team leader to ensure achievement of daily goals.
4.    Responsible for Shipping and Receiving functions
5.    Responsible for all aspects of order fulfillment process
6.    Leads customer return, damaged freight, and related processes.
7.    Assists with purchasing function as directed by General Manager.
8.    Performs assigned manufacturing tasks, including filter production, labeling, and lubricants packaging.
9.    Supports on time delivery goals by planning and executing customer deliveries.
10.    Supports other manufacturing processes, such as filter production cells, by operating production equipment as needed and as directed.
11.    Cross training.  As in any small company, cross training is critical to keep the company moving during times of vacation or sick leave.   This position may be cross trained to assist with customer service, inside sales and other functions as required.
12.    Embraces continuous improvement / business improvement tools and processes, and participates in related activities as directed by management.

Reporting Relationships:    The position reports to the General Manager.

Requirements
A high school diploma is required.  Experience with ERP systems and with Microsoft office (Excel, ppt, Word) is required.   Technical School or college degree is a plus.  3 to 5 years of manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.   Qualified candidates should be goal-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and possess excellent communication / leadership skills.  A valid driver’s license is required.  Reliable attendance, and completing tasks accurately and on-time is essential.
