Second Sight Systems is a leading system integrator and technical field support partner for industrial and utility customers. We provide utility field services, industrial RF systems, and communication tower services for our regional and nationwide customer base. Second Sight’s operational field team consists of certified technicians providing civil (ground work) and tower maintenance / installation services.

The General Manager position will oversee and direct the day-to-day field operations and the administrative office / warehouse staff for our Barnhart, MO-based team. This individual will provide daily direction and support for coordination between field technicians, warehouse, and the front office so that jobs are completed safely, on time and with the highest level of quality and service.

Job Description:

Second Sight Systems is seeking a General Manager of Operations who is comfortable working within a technical environment and has experience balancing field service technicians along with unique customer requirements. On a daily basis this candidate will be required to analyze various job requirements, assess company resources (personnel, materials, equipment), and allocate technicians according to their capabilities while meeting the customers’ expectations. The General Manager position will also need to consult with customers regarding installation, modification, and repair of equipment and products in customer field locations. Requires spending time in the field with occasional overnight travel.

Specific responsibilities and oversight include:

· Safety, Health and Quality program

· Provide guidance, training, and development for field technicians

· Job scheduling

· Forecasting for resource allocation between daily jobs and large strategic projects

· Procurement of inventory, materials, equipment

· Inventory and warehouse management

· Quality performance as it relates to service level, workmanship, lead-times to complete jobs

· Identifying cost reduction opportunities

· Optimizing resources in order to reduce labor hours and OT

· Fleet management of vehicles and trucks

* Supervise a group field technicians involved with servicing communication towers and utility substations.

* Resolve complex technical and logistic problems under general guidance. Develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer relations.

* Plan and establish work schedules, considering customer requirements, priorities, and availability of resources. Assign work consistent with skills of staff in order to cost-effectively achieve objectives while concurrently implementing efforts to continuously improve field performance.

* Monitor activities, anticipate and recognize potential problems, and take appropriate actions to mitigate.

* Inform other groups such as Business Development of potential opportunities for new business. Provide support and input on new quotes for large projects and RFP’s.

* Ensure that equipment is properly maintained, employees are properly trained, and work is performed in accordance with health and safety requirements.

* Investigate problems, quality issues, and safety incidents in order to develop or recommend solutions and implement measures to prevent recurrence or reduce impact.

* Maintain awareness of new developments and technologies. Review equipment capabilities, methods and processes and recommend feasibility of utilizing alternative measures or equipment to reduce costs, and improve quality. Propose to customers ways to optimize their operations while increasing the Company's business by such means as utilizing more recurring maintenance service programs.

Technical and/or hands on work:

* RF, cellular, and industrial communications products

* Comfortable working with electrical and utility assets such as substation communications and tower light installations

* Electrical and communications field-work to include installation and configuration of SCADA networks, fiber testing, RF path studies, line sweeps, antenna and cellular modem installs

Preferred Qualifications:

* Minimum of 10 years of professional experience

* Thorough knowledge of field service operations and the wireless industry

* Communication tower experience (climbing, new builds, maintenance, installs)

* Experience leading and directing field project activities

* General maintenance and repair knowledge for electrical and mechanical products

* Ability to act as the lead on field projects while communicating clearly and professionally to Second Sight’s customer base

* Must hold a valid driver’s license
