As Acme Smoked Fish of North Carolina continues to grow we want to be able to hire the best talent for our North Carolina campus when any of the following positions becomes available – Processing, Packaging, Machine Operator, Sanitation, and Production Support.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to the Quality Assurance Policies, including all items assigned to each task as outlined in our policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Complies with the work rules and standards as established.
  • Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings which provides a positive influence on all associates.
  • Refers to oral communication, work orders and procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
  • Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in all assigned work areas.
  • Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with the specifications, instructions and requirements.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to speak and write in English
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds required – Specific lifting requirements vary by job function
  • Hand dexterity – Specific requirements vary by job function
  • Ability to work in temperatures in upper 30's range with air flow from refrigeration units
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Able to communicate and demonstrate teamwork performance to maintain world class results in our manufacturing environment
  • Ability to complete production documentation paperwork accurately
  • Ability to learn and properly use computer software to help manage an accurate product yield, inventory and product flow
  • Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug and alcohol screen, physical, and background check

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years previous verifiable employment in a manufacturing environment, preferably food related
  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • National Career Readiness Certificate
