Job Summary:
The Simulation & Training Solutions Flight Systems & Communications team seeks an intrinsically motivated and detail oriented Software Engineer to work on the development of new and exciting simulation systems and products ranging in complexity from desktop trainers to high fidelity weapon systems for both military and commercial customer. This position provides the opportunity to participate in all facets of the software engineering development life cycle from requirements analysis to customer acceptance. Job Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, implement, test, and debug real time systems software
* Collaborate with software engineers, testers, hardware engineers, and project management to meet customer commitments within specified budget, schedule, and performance
* Participate in customer milestone reviews and working group meetings
* Interact with customers to define and capture operational concepts, translating them into system requirements
* Create engineering design documentation and participate in design reviews
* Provide accurate time estimates for the software development effort

Basic Qualifications
Required:
* A Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM degree.
* 5+ years of experience with full lifecycle software development, including:
------------Requirements analysis and requirement derivation
------------Preliminary and Critical Design
------------Code & Unit Testing
------------SW/SW and HW/SW Integration and Troubleshooting
------------Usage of Configuration Management tools (Subversion, Git, ClearCase etc.)
* Previous experience with real-time, multi-threaded programming
* Proficiency in C/C++ in Linux environment
* Strong teaming skills, including a willingness to act as a mentor to less experienced engineers.
* U.S. citizenship
* Active Clearance (within 24 months)

Desired:
* Previous experience with simulation software with focus on simulated/virtual radios and/or aircraft systems
* An understanding of various aircraft and simulation interfaces such as ARINC 429, ARINC 661, ARINC 664, MIL-STD-1553
* Experience with embedded systems and programming
* Strong troubleshooting skills, especially within a system of systems
* Strong customer focus (Patience, Attentiveness, clear communication, general knowledge in a variety of systems, time management skills, etc.)
* Familiarity with Earned Value Management concepts
* Previous experience with rehosting source code
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
