The Central Kitchen within Park City's Grand Summit Hotel, a Rock Resort, is seeking an Assistant Pastry Chef to join our team for the winter!  This role presents the opportunity to grow your culinary career within the base area's largest kitchen that's responsible for banquets, room service, and several restaurant outlets.  Reward hard work by enjoying a FREE Epic Ski Pass (refunds available if you've already purchased one!), resort discounts, dependent ski passes, and more!

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the efficient supervision of pastry production in the absence of the Pastry Chef.
  • Oversees and participates in the production of all pastry and baking needs for various outlets as designated by the Pastry Chef and the Executive Chef
  • Observes and supervises all safety and ServSafe rules to maintain a healthy and accident-free environment in the pastry cooking and preparation areas
  • Responsible for from-scratch breakfast bakeries, jams and preserves and other products as directed by the Pastry Chef and the Executive Chef
  • Meets and initiates feedback from banquets and restaurants to identify well received items, and to find out special needs
  • Produces pastries, breads, and bakeries as needed for all banquet and special events
  • Responds positively and efficiently to specially requested cakes and all pop-up special needs
  • Maintains a positive and optimistic attitude

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours
  • Team oriented attitude is a must
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • At least 1 year pastry or cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant preferred
  • Utah Food Handler’s Permit required with 2 weeks of employment
