Overview

The Assistant Director of Sales is responsible for leading the Corporate Ticketing, Corporate Events, Youth, Travel Industry
and Special Markets sales teams. This position will focus on executing the annual sales plan, key client development,
managing key relationships and identifying new target markets and sales product with the goal of meeting and exceeding
assigned annual attendance/revenue goals. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Sales will be responsible implementing best
practices while overseeing sales training and development of the KBF sales staff. This position will report directly to the Director
of Sales.

Qualifications
  • Experienced leader of a team of sales professionals with track record of meeting and exceeding goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams through organizational change.
  • Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Experience and knowledgeable of the Southern California theme park, corporate business and/or hospitality industries.
  • Proven ability to influence multiple stakeholders in a sophisticated business environment.
  • Ability to identify strategic sales goals and opportunities.
  • Strong sense of professional integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with peers in various organizational functions (marketing, finance, IT, production,
    operations, etc.).
  • Advanced written and verbal communications skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV,
    previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or
    provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Driver's License
Responsibilities
  • Works with Marketing organization in development of marketing plans for specific seasonal events and new product
    initiatives. Provides input on strategy development and delivers tactical sales plans to support each initiative.
  • Supports Director of Sales in development of annual sales and revenue goals and strategic sales plan in support of goals.
    Directly establishes individual sales plans and goals for the Corporate Ticketing, Corporate Events, Youth, Travel Industry
    and Special Markets sales channels.
  • Establishes individual sales goals and work with Sales Managers and Representatives on strategies and tactics to achieve these goals.
  • Analyzes weekly financial and attendance trends to identify sales opportunities, course correct declines and develop applicable contingencies.
  • Tracks sales against forecast, develop plans to exceed forecast and adjust as needed.
  • Delivers weekly reporting to management with regards to sales, opportunities, account status and areas of proposed expansion. Achieves or exceeds budgetary and financial targets
    throughout the fiscal year. Ensures goals and projections are in accordance with the Cedar Fair Corporate attendance and
    revenue goals.
  • Develops annual budget and manage/forecast all expenses.
  • Works with Accounting Department and Sales Managers to track and manage client payments, taking appropriate action
    when accounts are delinquent or underperforming.
  • Works with various KBF divisions as needed to meet customer needs and expectations. Works with Marketing, Promotions and Digital/Social teams to build and execute programs. Approves all
    Sales contracts and with Sales Director approves special client pricing needs.
  • Resolves client complaints fairly and in a timely fashion by consulting and providing recommendations to in park departments.
  • Researches and develops new sales product and programs, constantly evaluating current product and client satisfaction
    making adjustments as appropriate. Understands the competitive landscape to maintain leadership position given market
    and economic changes, adjusting sales plan and strategies accordingly.
  • Develops and maintains best practices, policies and service initiatives to achieve optimal sales service and client retention.
  • Manages key accounts. Attends industry trade shows, analyzing productivity of sales results. Develops and delivers key
    sales presentations to key clients or client groups in coordination with sales team. Conducts regular client visits and
    participates in industry events with sales managers and representatives. In conjunction with sales managers, manages
    appropriate process in development of all sales collateral.
  • Oversees the staff of all levels on the Sales organization chart including coordinators, representatives and managers.
    Collaborates with Director of Sales and Marketing organization to ensure all Sales/Marketing staffs are aligned on initiatives.
    Builds, trains, leads, manages and motivates the Sales team members and conducts ongoing sales training and development. Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and controls sales programs.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO
    policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manages own time. Takes timely actions based on others assessment of situation, with approval from above.
  • Works within approved budget; requires approval for any deviation.
  • Maintains current knowledge of, understands and implements regulatory requirements and legislation from information
    supplied by the Company, updating current policies, procedures and practices to ensure legal compliance.
  • Solves practical problems dealing with a variety of standard and non standard variables where limited standardization exists;
    helps to develop instructions for others in written, oral or diagram form.
