Job Description:
Aerotek is seeking to hire a Building Automation Systems Engineers, level 1, to work underneath our client's engineering team to learn building automation systems from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of electrical systems (preferably controls such as PLC's or BAS/HVAC Control systems) and have a strong desire to learn more about industrial controls systems. Candidates will work onsite at project locations for months/years at a time (project life-cycle; projects are typically in the DC/MD, Northern VA area) and learn how to build control panels as well as wire and program control systems to be sent into the field for commissioning and start-up of their systems for various projects.
Work Environment:
Candidate will work on site of active projects, underneath the new construction/software development team responsible for the programming and commissioning of building automation systems.
This person will learn both the hardware and software from the ground up and will work directly with Project Managers. This is a 40 hour (minimum) per week job and hours are typically anywhere from 6:30-2:30pm. Hours can vary.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's/Associates Degree in mechanical engineer, electrical engineering, electronics or equivalent
* General understanding of electrical theory
* Willingness to learn
* Basic computer skills
Additional Compensation:
Candidates will be eligible for Aerotek benefits immediately following the start of the position and will be hired on directly by our client as a direct employee after a probationary period, at which point they will be eligible for their benefits along with company vehicle usage.
