About this job

We are looking for both certified and non- certified Pharmacy Technicians to work in an office environment. These individuals will be reviewing prior authorizations to either approval or reject medical prescriptions based on insurance coverage.

Pay $14 an hour. Opportunity to work overtime.

Must be available to work anytime from 7AM- 7PM.

Start Date: Jan. 28, 2019 OR Feb 4th, 2019.

  • Fast -Paced Production environment (must be comfortable meeting metrics)
  • Must be comfortable researching, utilizing multiple databases, proficient with basic Math skills and overall good working knowledge of navigating through computer systems
  • Reviewing claims against a set of criteria set up by the client to determine if the claim should be approved or denied. Multiple Processes need to be learned and followed depending on: the reason the Prior Authorization was initiated (step therapy, formulary exception, quantity limit), the type of medication or drug class, client's criteria and the patients profile.
  • Information that is handled includes, but not limited to; member names, insurance information, client they are under, HMO, member addresses, etc. (protected health information). They will also be researching fax information, calling clinics for confirmation of fax details.
  • These processes are not black and white and require critical thinking skills and ability to retain multiple details.
  • Looking for detail oriented, problem solver, positive attitude, quick learner
  • Technician review any and all request(s) (prior authorizations, step therapy, formulary exception) regarding a rejection on the retail pharmacy end.
  • Each candidate will review certain criteria and guidelines to either reject or approve the medication/prescription.
  • They will review the request and look through previous materials, and also outreach out to the clinic regarding certain situations to obtain needed information.

Very fast-paced work environment. There are a lot of cases - each day is different with reviewing different situations. Some patients will receive customer calls regarding medications. Outreach is abundant, briefly discuss clinical information.
