About this job

Product Builders are tasked each day with assembling small medical devices by hand. Each product has anywhere from 1-15 steps, and takes anywhere from 17 seconds to 5 minutes per device. PBs are trained to start on one simple sub-assembly on the line. As the device comes down the line the PB will complete their small task, and pass the part down the line by hand to the next PB. This is an assembly line environment, but it is all table/station based in that there is no conveyor belt or machinery moving product down the line... it is all by hand. Once a PB masters the simple task they are assigned... they can be trained on a more complex task, and an even more complex one after that. All of the tasks are outlined in the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) which is at the PBs station to walk them through each exact task needed during the assembly process.

The sub-assemblies (individual assembly tasks) that the PBs perform are EXTREMELY REPETITIVE and EXTREMELY TEDIOUS. Some of the tasks require feeding a wire as thin as a piece of hair through a small opening in the device, and attaching a basket the size of a fingernail to the wire using tweezers. To complete these tasks some areas on the line use a camera system to zoom in on the product... allowing the candidate to look straight ahead at a monitor to see the precise place where the attachment happens.

Nearly all areas require candidates to be on their feet all day, but a few do have positions that can sit on a raised chair while assembling. Candidates should expect to stand all day when placed.

All shifts could be available but the priority shift is 2nd and 1st shifts at this time. Must be ok with working 50-55 hours per week.

They run 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts as well as weekend shifts (day and night) which would be Fri, Sat, and Sun.

This is a direct placement opportunity and the candidate will get benefits from day one.

Must have 1 year of manufacturing/production//warehouse experience.

GED or Diploma is required.
