DIRECTOR OF NURSING

Established home care agency is seeking a seasoned, fulltime DON, serving Essex and Union Counties for private pay clients.  The DON, under the supervision of the owners, is responsible for all clinical aspects of the company and is responsible for the general supervision and direction of all professional and para-professional field staff who provide services.  The ideal individual will have excellent communication skills, the ability to analyze and problem solve, and established community relationships to help with business development.  We are looking for someone who is socially engaging and a team player.

Qualifications:

1.           Graduate from an accredited college with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing or other health related field/Or an Associate's Degree with 5 years of Community Nursing experience.
2.           Must be a registered nurse in good standing, holding a current N.J License issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
3.           Must have an understanding of business development and an entrepreneurial spirit.
4.           Must be familiar with NJ BON Best Practices and implementation process.

Education:

1.            Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) or ASN with 5 years Community Nursing experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.           Direct all clinical services as per agency scope of practice and provide overall coordination and evaluation.
2.           Develop a community persona to help drive business development.
3.           Evaluate performance of all field staff based on care provided to client and family.
4.           Supervises all professional and non-professional staff to ensure quality service and maintenance of performance standards.
5.           Consult with the physician when necessary in order to provide and maintain safe and efficient patient care and review progress.
6.           Perform patient assessments on potential home care clients.
7.           Visit home care clients as required.
8.           Insure that all necessary documentation is completed on each case.
9.           Monitor client clinical status insuring all files meet standards as per governing regulations.
10.         Assist in the development and monitoring of company quality assurance and risk management program.
11.         Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with the healthcare team, client and his/her family members.
12.         Adhere to standard precautions, aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
13.         Interpret to the client and family implications of the clients' health status.
14.         Demonstrate respect for the opinion of others.
15.         Maintain confidentiality of client assessments and records.
17.         Identify and use appropriate resources as necessary.
18.         Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Package:
Annual salary based on experience
3 weeks paid vacation
10 paid holidays
