Job Description:

-Hands-on development and debugging new high speed embedded hardware

- Support manufacturing and enhancing of existing embedded hardware products

-Maintain and support Hardware production process and resolve manufacturing issues.

- Apply established development process and assist in process improvement

-Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.

-Contribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for products

Work Environment:

Will work on a multi-disciplinary team of Software, Electrical, Mechanical, and Hardware Engineers to design and develop state of the art high speed electronics.

This is a very face paced and sometimes stressful work environment where production deadlines are tight. The technology is cutting edge, but it is not a R&D (slower) environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ yrs Board level development experience utilizing high speed digital circuits and/or FPGAs is required
  • Experience with board level and/or FPGA development process is an asset
  • Experience with extended temperature design testing is desired
  • Experience with Hardware engineering processes and standards, and product configuration management system is an asset
  • Experience with design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics) is an asset
  • Experience with signal integrity analysis tools and measurement is an asset
  • Experience with Hardware defect tracking tools and test methodologies is an asset
  • Experience with Hardware debugging tools -- analyzers, scopes, emulators
  • Experience with using diagnostics tools like Digital Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DVMs
  • Experience with hardware descriptor languages such as Verilog or VHDL is an asset
  • Experience with requirements capture, analysis and tracking is an asset
  • Proven communication/interpersonal skills

Performance Expectations:

This person will need to be Mid-Sr. level in terms of coming in and being able to manage the hardware design and testing process.
