We are seeking one full stack Java Developer for a 12 Month Contract to Hire with a customer in Sterling, VA. Our client is an innovator in power and data solutions enabling next generation integrated weapon systems for the Department of Defense and commercial
sectors. Their main product line enables modularized, connected accessories, sensors, and optics on soldier implements and provides a full communication
infrastructure to allow real-time direct, encrypted communication between resource limited nodes and end-user clients.

Core Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the design, development and testing of the cloud
resident software layer of the distributed sensor platform. You will work with a small
team of experts from several disciplines working on software development projects
from requirements to final verification and validation and delivery. This position will
design and implement data schema (both relational and associative), message queue,ETL, core processing, security, API, user-interface, and 3rd party integration layers.

Project Management Responsibilities (15% of time):
* Identifies own software engineering tasks, dependencies, technical risks and
mitigation therein.
* Provide input into project schedules including tasks and completion milestones.
* Participates in technical reviews as required in line with the software process.
* Ensures that assigned software project deliverables and process requirements are
met.

Technical Responsibilities (85% of time):
* Documents designs, including but not limited to software specifications, detailed
design, implementation, verification and traceability
* Object orientated or structured design software design principles
* Software version control and defect management
* Complex software/hardware problem analysis and resolution

Test the JD:
This person will be responsible for getting the embedded device to talk to the cloud and send data in real time. This will include having conversations with the client to set requirements of the cloud technologies, the design of how the system will work, and doing the actual coding to get the system working.
