General Summary of Packaging Position:
Responsible for ensuring high quality production of work pieces by inspecting and testing parts, subassemblies, and processes for conformance to quality standards.
Job Functions:
Inspects Work Pieces by inspecting finished or in-process fabricated work pieces to determine acceptance or rejection; by evaluating work pieces against standards; by using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and thread gauges; by testing work pieces for appearance, allowable tolerances, reliability (repeated use), and accuracy (calibration), using master weights; and by rejecting unacceptable parts, and subassemblies.
Prepares Workpieces for Tool Coating by washing and packaging work pieces; by preparing the shipping documentation, including labels; by sending shipments to outside vendors for coating; and by preparing and maintaining the appropriate records and documentation.
Prepares Documentation- by keeping a log of production performance; by documenting all rejected work pieces, cases, and solutions; by documenting excessive scrap and waste, and informing Management; and by preparing reports for Management as requested.
