Job Summary

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan is seeking psychiatry applicants for a clinical track appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank (on the clinical track) to focus on sleep medicine, as appropriate based on experience and qualifications. The U-M Sleep Disorders Center and Center for Sleep Science involve more than 45 faculty, 15 departments, robust research programs, busy general and subspecialized clinical programs, clinical and research fellowship opportunities, and four T32 awards that can accommodate sleep research trainees.

The ideal candidate for this position will focus on provision of high quality clinical care and education at a well-developed, highly multidisciplinary Sleep Disorders Center. This includes general sleep clinics as well as a busy behavioral Sleep Medicine Program. The candidate will share teaching responsibilities within one of the largest ACGME-approved sleep medicine fellowships in the country.

In addition to direct patient care, our faculty have the opportunity to:

* Participate in or lead quality improvement and research efforts

* Provide mentorship, didactic teaching, and engage in patient care activities with fellows, residents, and medical students.

Required Qualifications*

Applicants must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry and Neurology and in Sleep Medicine and must hold or be eligible for a Michigan medical license. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
