Position Purpose & Summary

The Department Supervisor II position is responsible for week-to-week and Monthly outlook of operation of the facility, located in Fayetteville, NC. The position is responsible for transforming departmental goals into measurable results. This includes supporting the team structure through leadership of department supervisors, non-exempt personnel; supporting safety, food safety, environmental, and quality requirements; managing costs of operations. This position works closely with all areas of the facility in supporting projects, including Manufacturing Technology (MT), and Continuous Improvement (CI) operational improvement opportunities.

Principal Accountabilities

20% Review, monitor and follow-up on department/skill block results. This includes managing department costs to remain within budget guidelines, using CI fundamentals to improve processes and working with MT groups. Will develop deep technical knowledge of the department. Assist in project selection and implementation including assisting other members to accomplish the goals of the department to align with the site business plan. Develop plans for continuous improvement of the department including actions and driving accountability.

20% Development and supervision of direct and indirect reports (coaching, Performance Management Plans (PMP's). Work with peers at location in establishing consistent personnel policies. Lead department/skill blocks in a manner that results in an engaged and safe environment. Provide leadership, organization, and communication to the department, ensure structure, training, and a team that operates as a high-performance work team.

20% Maintain a 1 month outlook on Maintenance activities, shutdowns, and project scheduling's.

20% Focus will be on creating a zero-injury culture, food safety, environmental compliance, and reliability.

10% Capital Deployment

10% Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree
  • OR High School diploma/GED or higher and 5 or more years of technical experience
  • 3 or more years of manufacturing and/or project management
  • 3 or more years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or Sciences related field
  • Capital project experience (managing $50,000 or more)
  • 2 or more years of experience in Maintenance and Reliability

Success Factors

  • Working knowledge of Food Safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental regulations.
