Job Description

Working supervisor in the campus retail operations (Mom’s, MacLeod’s Convenience Store, Vending, and Old Main Café as needed). Responsible for supervising staff to provide high quality foods, prepared just in time, with the highest level of customer service in an attractive, wholesome, sanitary environment. Other responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving or referring problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises and participates in the preparation of foods and the service of customers for all cash sales including Mom’s, C-Store, and occasionally Old Main Café and vending

  • Follows established procedures for the computerized point of sales systems and the reporting of income and charges during the shift
  • Supervises and participates in opening and closing procedures; including sweeping and mopping floors, trash disposal, cleaning of all dining tables and chairs, and proper storage of all food and equipment
  • Reports any equipment or supply problems to the General Manager of Catering & Retail.
  • Directs, disciplines, and documents staff behavior during shift in accordance with Campus Dining Services and The College of Wooster; communicates staff behavior issues with the General Manager of Catering & Retail consultation and action
  • Maintain the proper sanitation and operation in all department areas according to Health Department code and standards.
  • Communicate and enforce standards, policies, and procedures set by Campus Dining Services and The College of Wooster; maintain a sense of confidentiality with respect to employment records, information, meetings and discussions
  • Apart from regularly assigned student dining shifts and responsibilities, must be flexible to perform related duties and responsibilities during vacations, summers, and catering
  • Other duties may be assigned.
    • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related experience and/or formal training; formal training preferred.
