Job Description

The Lash Lounge is a unique and very fast growing company dedicated to providing safe, sanitary and truly customizable lash applications to its clients in its franchised and company owned stores. The Lash Lounge is recognized as the leader in the lash extension field and has recently begun a nationwide expansion including the New England area. The Eastern Massachusetts franchisor is looking for a highly qualified General Manager to participate in this high growth business from the early stages. The opportunity is truly unique as the General Manager will be a key component of the rollout of an initial 3 Lash Lounge Stores in Eastern Massachusetts.

DESCRIPTION:
The General Manager is responsible for overall salon operations management, local salon marketing strategy, and the development and coaching of salon staff to ensure quality brand delivery for successful results. This position is critical to the livelihood of the salon and contributes to the positive reputation and overall culture that is cultivated among the team and conveyed to our guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the recruiting, hiring, training, development and assessment of salon staff to assure a high-performing team with strong retention.
• Ensure salons are adequately staffed and manage employee schedules, time-off and all other requests.
• Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to all staff, hold staff accountable for desired results. Conduct performance and pay reviews on time, and provide a balanced mix of positive and constructive feedback to all staff.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions with stylists and manage any necessary disciplinary counseling meetings
• Oversee staff development and training and responsible for timely successful completion of all required courses based on the employee's role. Keep staff well informed and hold regular meetings to communicate, educate and build teamwork.
• Stay up-to-date with organization's systems and new roll-outs. Consistently follow all organization's policies, practices and procedures.
• Solicit input and feedback on best practices and issues that affect salon staff, to help create solutions for improved practices going forward
• Ensure the expected "white-glove" customer service experience is communicated and being implemented by all salon staff members
• Handle any customer related issues
• Be intimately involved in the client retention, feedback and loyalty program. Create internal process and ensure it is consistently followed
• Run huddles to ensure goals, trends, training, marketing and any other communication is disseminated to salon staff. Maintain updates on salon goals and ensure staff is equipped with all required items they need to contribute to the overall success.
• Maintain a positive culture within each salon. Ensure that all staff members know and are honoring the core values of The Lash Lounge always
• Ensure salons have adequate supplies at all times. Oversee inventory counts, restocking, merchandising, and backbar control. Ensure all staff members have the tools they need to be successful
• Assist in marketing ideas based on salon trends and needs. Manage assigned marketing tasks such as social media posting, attending events, B2B cross-promoting, and more as required.
• Responsible for weekly bank deposits and salon supply runs. Coordinate any salon repairs and purchases with owner
• Cover front desk shifts as require
• Prepare revenue and expense projections for organization; submits for approval.
• Monitor budget on a monthly basis to ensure expenses are within forecast; note exceptions and potential problem areas and follow up as needed.
• Perform other projects, work and activities as assigned

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Strong verbal communication and listening skills with successful team management experience
+ Strong computer skills required, fluent with using MS office products, and ease with learning new software programs quickly
+ Strong customer service skills and background
+ Initiates self-learning and is comfortable at educating staff and guests on products and services offered.
+ Well organized, detail oriented and identifies additional tasks to be completed.
+ Exhibits sound judgment and adheres strictly to The Lash Lounge standards of salon operations.
+ Forms strong working relationships within team and creates a teamwork environment.
+ Takes a leadership role by helping others with training, offers assistance, and helps solve client issues related to a faulty service.
+ Willing to check and "fix" work performed by other stylists.
+ Keeps salon owner aware of any issues that are going on in the salon and suggests productive solutions to resolve them in order to ensure smooth daily operation of the salon.
