Job Description
Industrial Packaging Sales Representatives will:
Focus selling efforts primarily on the packaging materials segment while also growing additional business through facility supplies and material handling solutions.
The ideal candidate will develop specific customer solutions from a broad array of vendors and capabilities to provide maximum value to the customer.
Maintain accurate, detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the potential of each account in your territory.
Demonstrate the ability to make prepared sales calls on prospects and customers and the ability to maintain a high level of organization.
Plan sales and gross profit goals for the specific territory. Develop yearly goals for key accounts.
Maintain and grow a sales pipeline of prospects to insure future sales development. The ideal applicant would have a proven track record of customer development and building a sales pipeline process.
Focus on building specific customer and vendor relationships through joint sales calls and direct conversations.
Develop regular communication with customer service and purchasing on customer specific packaging products / programs and each customers specific expectations regarding order process / delivery and quality. Update support staff - purchasing / customer service / warehouse / administration.
Update all customer specific pricing on periodic basis negotiating your specific business with the appropriate vendors and communicating to purchasing and customer service.
Update any specific price changes or product specification changes to customers and Sunbelt purchasing and customer service.
Maintain and monitor quality customer service to every customer.
Investigate and resolve all customer complaints promptly. Evaluate the source of the issue and coordinate a resolution process with all involved parties.
Qualifications:
The ability to deal with a variety of customers, both internal and external, in a highly professional and diplomatic manner.
Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proven track record of cold calling on a consistent basis.
The ability to maintain and organize work flow and to make decisions within guidelines.
Excellent interpersonal, telephone, presentation, oral and written communication skills.
3 to 5 years minimum successful selling experience is preferred in the manufacturing and distribution area.
College degree or equivalent work experience required.
PC proficient in Windows-based programs (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Starting salary and commission are commensurate with experience.
The ultimate goal is a 100% highly competitive industry best commission rate.
