Scope and General Purpose: Part Time

This position is responsible for performing a variety of retail sales activities in an exceptionally friendly, professional and efficient manner commensurate with the demands of a world class resort. This position provides sales service, daily shop maintenance, cleaning and a range of tasks associated with providing exceptional personal service within the scope of upscale retail. The application will be expected to exceed expectations by proactively anticipating guest needs.

 

Essential Duties:

* Build the Barnsley Brand with packaging and extraordinary customer service

* To utilize proper selling techniques and strategies to maximize shop and activity revenues

* Checking and implementing duties resulting from email/phone messages daily

* Ensure exceptional customer service while selling merchandise and activities

* Open and close shop in accordance with standards of operation

* Maintain count on open and close in cash drawer

* Straighten and replenish displays during and at end of day

* Tagging and steaming new goods upon receipt

* Restocking sold merchandise and supplies daily

* Timely and economical shipment of any phone purchases/guest request shipments

* Daily shop maintenance including sweeping, cleaning displays, dusting, buttoning, zipping and straightening hangers

* Check holds/employee tickets daily

* To handle all guest compliments, observations and complaints in a timely effective manner, achieving guest satisfaction

* To ensure proactive building of guest purchase and activity history

* To follow up on special order requests with the shop manager via email or phone

* Promptly greet and answer quests' questions about booking/scheduling/participating in outdoor activities

* Give detailed information as needed to callers regarding rates, packages, and all aspects of outdoor activities

* To learn terminology associated with fishing, sporting clays, hunting and trail riding

 

Marginal Duties:

* To keep work area tidy and attractive

* To complete daily administrative tasks

* Run daily reports and end of month reports when needed

* Other duties as assigned

 

Position Requirements:

* Secondary Diploma Required. College Experience as asset

* Excellent sales and customer service skills in English

* Ability to multi task

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

* An eye for detail

* Ability to count and maintain bank balance

* Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel (minimal) and Outlook required

* Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements:

* Essential duties require long periods of standing, listening and speaking. Colleague must have normal vision including close and color vision, hearing and verbal communication. Must be able to frequently lift and carry items up to 20 lbs and occasionally items up to 40 lbs. Work is on occasion fast paced and requires quick decision and multi-tasking abilities.

Environmental Conditions:

* The Sporting Club has multiple phone lines and incoming calls are frequent.

Work can be fast paced and noise level is moderate to loud at times.
