Job Description

ob Purpose:

The General Manager will provide leadership, direction, and support to assigned operating region to ensure delivery of annual business goals. Will execute all necessary functions required to maintain the parts and service in a profitable manner. Position requires daily oversight of operations while consistently working with internal and external customers to ensure exceptional service.

 

Essential Functions:

1) Meet or exceed budget goals in every area of operations; responsible for delivering expectations on all goals surrounding expenses and revenues to maintain established profit margin.

2) Mange and promote all aspects regarding Parts and Service for TSI region; ensure maximum utilization of TSI facilities.

3) Control and maintain the movement of inventories in all parts warehouses within the region.

4) Responsible for increasing parts turns from all parts warehouses, including but not limited to the main facility and truck stock.

5) Generate and review controls to maintain methods to measure productivity, profitability and efficiencies within the region.

6) Work with all Lanco divisions to ensure consistencies and efficiencies to participate in the growth of the Lanco bottom line.

7) Maintain involvement for promoting effective programs to ensure parts and service opportunities; develop accurate pricing and quoting of jobs to meet required profit margins.

8) Proactively manage and measure all maintenance contracts’ effectiveness to ensure profitability.

9) Maintain active approach and explore any and all opportunities to increase the utilization of the facilities’ capabilities to increase the growth of revenue.

10) Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal & external) within your region and to the Lanco companies as a whole.

11) Act as the safety champion and leader for your region; Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.

12) Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Companywide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.

13) Other duties as assigned by Vice President of Operations.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role manages and directs supervisors, professionals, parts, and service employees. The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of direct reports and for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. –

Build and manage a team atmosphere in all areas of responsibilities, embrace and focus on the retention of personnel while continuing to increase employee morale.

Experience/Training/Education:

Required: 5-10 years manufacturing leadership experience

Desired: BS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Strong managerial and leadership skills required. Knowledge and understanding of welding, machining, paint, fabrication, and assembly processes. Requires knowledge of work place safety. Required knowledge of lean manufacturing, and 5 S’s. Must have a good understand of Microsoft Office applications experience with one or more ERP systems (ideally Epicor E9). Competencies include but not limited to Business Acumen. Communication Proficiency. Problem Solving/Analysis. Project Management. Strategic Thinking.

Physical and Environmental Elements:

Employees work in both office and field environments with potential numerous hours sitting and working using computer and telephone. When working in field or production environment will have exposure to noise and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull.
