The role…

Choice Hotels is seeking a Director, Sleep Inn Brand Management to collaborate with the Senior Director on the development and execution of brand positioning and strategies for the Sleep Inn brand, in alignment with the overarching portfolio strategy and corporate business objectives. Our Director will frame holistic value propositions for the Sleep Inn brand based on its role in the portfolio and represents internally and externally as "face of the brand" and leads franchisee-facing initiatives. Directs the monitoring and analyses of brand performance and the competitive landscape.

What you will do…

Brand Planning & Execution

  • In partnership with the Sr. Director, ensures that the franchisee, developer and consumer value propositions for the Sleep Inn brand is competitive, with the goal of optimizing brand segmentation, guest satisfaction, unit growth, CRS contribution and RevPAR performance.
  • Accountable for all brand-specific goals and metrics. Leads the development and implementation of key brand strategies. Manages cross-functional teams and collaborates with departments across the organization.
  • Analyze direction and growth of the business and assesses the competitive landscape and market trends. Continuously keeps up on industry developments, opportunities, and applicability as it pertains to the Sleep brand.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director on development of a multi-year comprehensive strategic brand plan, effectively communicates business cases for key brand initiatives, and supports gaining organizational alignment.
  • Monitor and track performance for the brands and its competitors on an ongoing basis and communicates these findings to the appropriate audiences.
  • Act as the Sleep Inn Brand Champion at company and industry events, including during Convention, owner meetings, and other conference events.
  • Prepare and delivers professional and effective communications to convey brand strategy, brand initiatives, and brand performance to a variety of audiences, utilizing a variety of tools and methods (e.g., presentations, spreadsheets, videos).
  • Lead the relationship with the Sleep Inn brand franchisee associations including in-person and conference call meetings.

Business Management and Analyses

  • Direct preparation of financial and operational analyses to assess current performance of brand initiatives and to identify opportunities to achieve brand goals.
  • Direct development and implementation of performance metrics and measurements to assess the success of brand initiatives and recommends strategic changes based on results.
  • Collaborate with Market Research to understand existing guest data and performance trends and to identify additional research needs that will help the brand assess opportunities and build plans to achieve goals.

Leadership

  • Hire, retains and continuously develops diverse, high caliber talent who are able to contribute positively to the organization. Develops a pipeline of talent for all key positions to meet current and future needs.
  • Manage direct report(s) to achieve or exceed department goals by leveraging internal and external resources and by driving a continual focus on Best Practices and a deeper understanding of the business.
  • Drive an agility-oriented culture and provides clear direction on long term goals and in the day-to-day execution of brand strategy
  • Effectively communicates and implements strategic change initiatives.

Skills you have…

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years' relevant work experience in brand management, product management, marketing, consulting or other relevant field, including supervisory experience. Prior experience in hospitality or in a franchise-organization is preferred.
  • Strong track record of success in translating organizational strategy to business plans and execution, including building business cases, gaining internal/external support, and directing results-oriented implementation.
  • Strong business acumen; proven success in collaborating with business leaders across organizational lines to ensure a solutions-focused approach to supporting achievement of corporate business objectives.
  • Strong leadership skills; proven ability to collaborate and develop relationships with associates at all levels and to drive results in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create clear messaging across a variety of audiences
  • Proven strategic agility and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
