Description

Responsible for daily operations of the Life Time USA Swim Team. Responsible for team financials. Builds strong relationships with coaches, participants, parents and club Department Heads. Continually challenges swimmers and coaches to advance to the next level.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Member Experience

  • Greets, acknowledges, engages and interacts with members at all times.
  • Creates an educational, safe and inviting experience for all participants.
  • Initiates, develops and maintains positive relationships with participants and parents.
  • Responds to member questions and concerns regarding Life Time's programs, policies and procedures.
  • Quickly and efficiently responds to member questions, comments and concerns.
  • Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area.

Sales & Promotional

  • Promote and sells all Aquatic programs and services.
  • Continually increases their knowledge of Life Time's products, services, policies and procedures.
  • Promotes all Life Time Programs, products and services.
  • Recruits a minimum of 12 swimmers per year, per club, from the U Swim Program to join the Life Time Colorado USA Swim Team until space is maxed out.

Financial & Budgetary

  • Maintains compliance to the Life Time Fitness USA Swim Team Accounting Policy and Procedure.
  • Maintains accurate accounting records for all deposits, withdrawals and expenses for the Regional Team.
  • Provides Club Department Heads and the Regional Aquatics Manager with accounting updates on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintains compliance to the Life Time Fitness USA Swim Team Accounting Policy and Procedure.
  • Provides Club Department Heads and the Regional Aquatics Manager with accounting statements on a quarterly basis.
  • Informs DH's and Regional Aquatics Manager of all meets, payments due, and checks cut.
  • Pays all expenses on time and maintains a positive balance in the team account at all times.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate practice attendance records for all clubs within the Region and uploading into team unify, or having each coach upload their own weekly.
  • Responsible for formatting and implementing workout structure that will be used to create like workouts simultaneously at each club within the Region for each age group of swimmers. This will follow a progressive nature towards target meets throughout the season.
  • Responsible for Regional monthly newsletter, this is to be distributed to all swimmers within the Regional Program each month via email.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely swim meet registration for participants within the region.
  • Responsible for keeping the website updated will current information at all times including checking on e-mail access so that ALL Parents, ALL Coaching staff, and ALL Department Heads get every email that is sent out.

Managerial & Supervisory

  • Maintains order and safety in swimming areas.
  • Assists in enforcing club and pool policies at all times.
  • Attends department and €œall club€ meetings.
  • Attends monthly and quarterly meetings.
  • Evaluates head coaches and assistant coaches at all sites on a monthly basis.
  • Meets with DH and GM during or after visit to report how things are going.
  • Attends and/or leads a practice at each facility every month to ensure that they are running according to SOP.
  • Hosts meetings and builds relationships with members at each club during visit.
  • Assists with other sites at meets so assistants do not need to be sent. Builds relationships with swimmers at each site.

Travel Responsibilities

  • Attends one practice for each age group within each club within the region on a monthly basis.
  • Attends all swim meets.
  • Meets with the Regional Aquatics Manager once a month.

Responsibilities of All Positions

  • Supports and articulates the Life Time Fitness mission statement
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures
  • Ensures cleanliness of the club using all 5 senses:
  • Sight to ensure club is neat and orderly
  • Sound to ensure music levels are appropriate
  • Touch to ensure floors, counter tops, etc are clean and dry
  • Taste to ensure the food & beverages in the cafe© are up-to-standards
  • Smell to ensure the club is fresh and odor free

Customer Service:

Demonstrates positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism to internal and external customers.

Safety:

  • Safety responsibilities include:
  • Complies with all company safety rules.
  • Uses all required safety devices and personal protection equipment.
  • Reports accidents and injuries to supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Participates in safety training and safety inspections.
  • Suggests methods of preventing hazards to safety committee.

Qualifications

Experience:

Two years of customer service experience

Five years coaching experience

Two years lifeguarding experience

Two years of supervisory/management experience

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations all Current Status:

  • USA Level 1 Certification ASCA Level 3 Certification Current Member of ASCA and USA Swimming Safety Training for Swim Coaches Certifications Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid Red Cross CPR-PR/AED
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
  • Ability to swim and extensive knowledge of swim programs
  • Ability to effectively build teams
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of pool pump room operations
  • Ability to multi-task, make decisions easily and quickly
  • Ability to operate a personal computer
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner
  • Ability to build relationships with members
  • Comfortable working with all age groups, including children
  • Strong problem solving skills

Language Ability:

  • Intermediate
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.

Math Ability:

  • Intermediate
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Advanced Skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Technical Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, and Team Unify. Also must have the ability to learn new computer programs.
