The Role…

The Data Analyst, Revenue Management works with the Revenue Managers, Senior Revenue Managers to maximize total hotel room revenue by providing analytical analysis and technical knowledge of the market, the competition, distribution channels and various systems. The Data Analyst , Revenue Management must be strategic and decisive, combining knowledge in revenue management, ecommerce, sales, marketing and distribution to offer support to the Choice RM Team in making the optimal revenue decisions.

What you will do...

  • Maintains short-term & long-term trends of the local market. Tracks, evaluates and communicates business and market trends for assigned hotels to the RM and or SRM.
  • Reviews and tracks the brand contribution for assigned hotels to ensure maximizing brand channels and minimizing potential missed revenue opportunities.
  • Evaluates hotel performances to verify strategic pricing and restriction decisions by market segment and channel were successful in achieving revenue goals.
  • Determines areas of opportunities for further revenue growth and market penetration.
  • Automate reports and build dashboards to periodically analyze the performance outcomes of revenue management initiatives at regional, hotel and revenue manager level.
  • Maintain effective relationships with other departments within Choice to identify data sources to be utilized.
  • Reviews and analyzes the group trends, monitoring group blocks, wash factors and optimal group booking windows.
  • Create, recommend and evaluate strategic pricing decision by market segment and channel to maximize room revenues for assigned hotels.
  • Prepares trend reports to be used when completing the 90-day room revenue strategies for assigned hotels. Reviews with RM and/or SRM in preparation of revenue call.
  • Evaluates the daily, weekly and monthly STR report to understand the trends of assigned hotels and competition. Interprets market conditions, trends, and the competition with the RM/SRM.
  • Roll up and share trends of major cities with team to optimize clustering opportunities.
  • Conduct audits as part of the onboarding process to ensure all rate plans are set up properly and the inventory controls are set as predetermined by RM/SRM.
  • Ensures all Revenue Management data files are organized and maintained.

What you should have…

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business administration, economics, mathematics or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience in a Data Analyst role
  • Strong understanding of CRO, GDS, PMS, SalesPro and Internet distribution systems. Preferred multi-brand experience (Starwood, IHG, Hilton and/or Marriott)
  • Strong analytical skills required and ability to apply those skills to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls.
  • Excel experience is required: VBA, Tableau, and SQL experience is preferred
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment.
