Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager, the UM Coordinator coordinates the Bed Day process including referral creation, discharge dates, bed types for IG and OOG hospital admissions and provides key support actions for the department such as scheduling timely post hospital discharge follow up appointments for all managed care inpatients and for patients with diabetic education needs, ensuring communication of these appointments, coordinating information with multiple departments and providing statistical reporting.
Additionally, supports the Skilled Nursing Facility program through referral formation and data entry.
This position is able to work with a variety of staff and in multiple areas as a self starter with accuracy.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in a medical environment utilizing computer programs.
- Working knowledge of both front and back office.
- High School Graduate
- Experience and comfort with multiple computer programs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a group.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding and experience in insurances preferred.
- Training in ICD codes, provider scheduling programs, communication skills preferred.
