Job Overview

You are part of the team that is empowered to provide exceptional cleaning service in all public areas, guest corridors and other assigned areas. You will work closely with others who, like you, are fully committed to ensuring that all spaces are clean, warm, welcoming and encourage comfort.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains cleanliness of resort property flooring. Cleans a variety of floors and carpets types throughout Wild Dunes Resort.
  • Assuring improved quality and cleanliness of designated indoor/outdoor areas: Sweetgrass Pavilion, Administration Building, Boardwalk Inn, Village at Wild Dunes, Resort Pool Areas (Palm Cove, Grand Pavilion, Swim Center), Links Clubhouse, Harbor Prop Shop, Harbor Course Halfway House, Tennis Shop, Tidewater Conference Center, Port O' Call conference Center, and all resort bathrooms (associate/guest).
  • Responsible for routine floor care and carpet care.
  • Working on a daily/weekly/monthly calendar based schedule to complete aforementioned area floors.

  • Utilization of heavy equipment: floor care machines, power washers, vacuums, extractors, floor buffers, and blowers.

  • Required to work a variety of scheduled shifts (overnight, early morning, day time, and evening time)
  • Prepares designated area for floor cleaning.
  • Assuring the correct chemicals and equipment are utilized on flooring/carpet.
  • Assuring furniture and other equipment are properly moved to complete the area in need.

  • Keeps cleaning equipment, vehicles, and closets, clean, stocked, and orderly at all times.
  • Informs management of supply and/or equipment needs.
  • Informs maintenance/engineering of any equipment/machinery or company property improperly functioning.

  • Assists in emptying wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal.
  • Make certain that assignments are completed in a timely manner
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections to assure the completion of work assignments.
  • Take necessary action to correct any mechanical, structural, or other engineering condition in need of repair or replacement. Take necessary action to correct any safety issues (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.)
  • Assist with the training of floor/carpet care.
  • Attends daily pre-shift meeting in AM/PM when scheduled for that respective shift.
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures and their role in assisting during these times.
  • Proactively perform ongoing quality inspections of public areas and take corrective action as needed to address quality deficiencies particularly in regards to flooring/carpets.
  • Conducts weekly Walk Through with Management.
  • Utilization of Carpet/Floor Care calendar.
  • Making recommendations regularly for scheduling/rescheduling of assignments.

  • Perform minor and general maintenance functions as required.
  • Follows through on lost and found procedures. Articles shall not be removed from occupied rooms.
  • Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, maintains accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of public areas.
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner.
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the housekeeping team.
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
  • Attend all monthly and required resort meetings and training.
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress code standards.

Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

$500 sign on bonus! $250 paid at hire and the remaining $250 paid after 6 months of employment. This is a full time position eligible for medical, dental, vision benefits after 90 days! We also offer paid time off, 401K, hotel and Food & Beverage discounts, etc!

eXPERIENCE & eDUCATION:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma, GED
  • 1 year of Housekeeping experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Some supervisory and strong organizational skills
  • 1 year of Floor Care experience preferred

Working CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day, with intermittent periods of stair climbing;
  • Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 50 lbs.; frequently up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 150 lbs;
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently; kneel or crawl occasionally; infrequently climb a ladder
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat); with exposure to chemicals and dust.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements and simple grasping constantly; pushing & pulling, squeezing and overhead reaching frequently.
