HEAD START/EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
TEACHERS (Pre-K, 3-5 years of age)

Cincinnati Union Bethel is hiring for full-time Lead Teachers at the following Early Learning Academies: Camp Washington (1054 Heywood Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45225), Little Blossoms Academy (2015 W North Bend Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45224) and Winton Campus (5139 Holland Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45232). 

Specific duties of the Lead Teacher position include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and maintain a physical environment conducive to promoting optimal growth and development via positive social interaction of preschool children including eating with children.
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate instructional programs to encourage parental involvement and knowledge base as their child’s primary source of affection, care and learning.
  • Participate in transition process for children and families.
  • Coordinate with Family Service Worker, ADA, child abuse program requirements, as well as, schedule and document parent-teacher conferences and home visits.
  • Plan and implement daily developmental learning models for preschool age children which provides for cultural, social economic backgrounds, emotional or physical disabilities, and individual style and pace of learning.
  • Implement IEP’s for all children including those with diagnosed disabilities.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate reading programs and programs which promote healthy, accepting attitudes regarding children’s bodies and their functions.
  • Evaluate developmental progress and maintain records for each child, including progress and immunization status.
  • Maintain environmental safety checklists and operational and safe equipment and materials.

Qualifications: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education required, Bachelor or Master degree in ECE strongly preferred. Candidate must have good verbal, written & computer skills and preferably one (1) year experience working in an early learning environment with children 3-5 years of age in an urban setting (this can include practicum placements). Spanish skills a plus.
