About The Job

This job is a member of the Information Technology team, within the Information Technology Division. This position is responsible for expense management activities associated with the Telecom and Unified Communications departments. These activities include provisioning, disconnections, financial tracking, billing issues, and analysis of Telecom services.

Specifically, you'll do the following:

  • Assists in the creation and tracking of operating expenses, project budgets, forecasting, accruals, billing research, disputes, and cost reduction
  • Ensures the proper application of accounting and cost allocation policies
  • Supports needs of the Telecom team, such as ordering of new service, disconnecting service, and upgrading service, as well as maintenance of the Telecom and UC inventory
  • Assists with the resolution of telecom billing issues
  • Coordinates site surveys and telecom inventory audits
  • Partners with vendors regarding contracts, equipment, payment strategies, and dispute resolution
  • Partners with project managers and leaders to negotiate with vendors for lower delivery costs
  • Travels, as required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting or related financial discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of experience managing operating expenses, project budgets, and variance analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing operating expenses, project budgets, and variance analysis
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis
  • Experience with Telecom Expense Management Systems and associated billing details
  • Experience with ordering, tracking and receiving telecom services such as telephone lines, audio conference bridges, and telephone devices
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and auditing procedures
  • Ability to understand contracts and vendor proposals in order to accurately verify and audit a variety of financial records
  • Ability to assimilate large volumes of detailed information, and organize/present material in simple terms
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected events, new facts, and rapidly changing circumstances
  • Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate to advanced skill set in MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to effectively explain financial/accounting concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience
  • Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently
