Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

Hotel Overview: Known as the island's only all-suite oceanfront resort, the hotel is situated on Polo Beach in the world-class, master-planned destination of Wailea, on the south western coast of Maui. Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Venue Manager, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, Luana will be responsible for the daily operations and continued improvement of the hotel's lobby bar. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

* Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service. Handle guest concerns and react quickly and professionally

* Work with hotel leadership with developing a critical path for the continued improvement of the outlet. Under leadership direction, the department will deliver a new culinary and beverage concept, enhanced service standards, entertainment program and OS&E concept

* Ensure outlet's bar and cocktail program is aligned with both Brand standards, market trends and our destination identity

* You will use your entrepreneurial talents to market and promote the venue within the local community and at neighboring resorts. In conjunction with the Sales and Public Relations teams, use strong public relation skills to position the venue as one of the most popular and exciting venues in Wailea

* Heighten the awareness and positioning of the venue through active use of social media

* Within the resort, actively promote the new facility to all internal influencers of business

* Lead and manage the team in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are consistently met

* Manage the recruitment and training of Colleagues

* Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings and daily briefings

* Maximize revenues by communicating regularly with the Food and Beverage teams to implement agreed upon strategies, practices and promotions

* Through strong promotional activity, achieve strong growth in revenues and manage the departmental payroll and expense budget

* Follow hotel and venue policies, procedures and service standards

* Ensure we are consistently aligned with all workplace safety and sanitation standards, and operating in accordance with all applicable regulations

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Previous Food and Beverage leadership experience required

* Maui County Department of Liquor Control Certification Card required

* Previous Point of Sale System experience required

Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required

* Must be able to adhere to the State of Hawaii food handling safety standards

* Excellent communication and organizational skills

* Skills in social media

* Strong selling, interpersonal and problem solving abilities

* Creative with an aptitude in marketing and promotions

* Highly responsible & reliable

* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

* Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

* Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):

* Frequent walking, standing and sitting throughout shift

* Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs

* Occasional bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling

* Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
