Description:

Position Summary: This employee is responsible for the upholstery jobs from start to finish from repairs to complete replacments. This person is also responsible for determining inventory needs and submitting order requests and managing upholstery shop tools supplies and inventory. This person is willing to help out wherever needed and committed to delivering outstanding customer service.

Essential Functions:

  • Make, repair, and/or replace upholstery, canvas tops, window screens and biminni frames using knowledge of fabric and upholstery methods.
  • Operate sewing machines or sew upholstery by hand to seam cushions and join various sections of covering material.
  • Measure and cut new covering materials, using patterns and measuring and cutting instruments, following sketches and design specifications.
  • Read work orders and apply knowledge and experience with materials in order to determine types and amounts f materials required to cover workpieces.
  • Track time and materials to work orders.
  • Put in inventory order request to ensure proper materials and quantities are on hand for scheduled projects and regualr needs.
  • Must be flexible - willing to work a varied schedule.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties and task as assigned by manager

Qualifications:

  • Two years's minimum experience in full service upholstery.
  • Preferred specialty in Marine Vinyl and Canvas.
  • Basic mathematical knowledge and computer skills required.
  • Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
