The OR Trauma Nurse Coordinator functions within the full scope of licensure and will implement the nursing process in the provision of direct patient care to include the following: assess patient and family needs, develop a plan of care based on patient care needs and surgical procedure to be performed as well needs of the anesthesiologist and the surgeon. Implementation of the plan of care is individualized and collaboration occurs with all members of the surgical team including the, Assistant Department Manager(s), OR Materials Manager, and Department Manager when necessary. The OR Trauma Nurse Coordinator is responsible for managing and facilitating the activities in the operating room on weekends. The OR Trauma Nurse Coordinator assures that physiological, safety, environmental, psychosocial and learning needs of the patient are addressed.

Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial Heart Institute.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as an RN in the State of California.

  • Minimum of one (1) year recent nursing experience in an Operating Room.

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience (in an Operating Room with a trauma program) both in circulating and scrubbing roles.

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience managing complex trauma patients across the continuum of care.

  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

  • Current Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification or must obtain within twelve (12) months.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

  • Basic knowledge of nursing process in assessment of physical, psychosocial, and psychological needs of the patients.

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient populations.

  • Ability to write, read, hear, and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.

  • CNOR certification.
