About this job
The Water Systems Technician (WST) plays an integral role in ensuring one of the USNWC’s major assets, its water and affiliated systems, are kept at the highest operational standards required for our guests. Working alongside team members from the paddle sports and facilities departments as well as our engineer and key suppliers, the WST will focus on implementing procedures and solving problems.
Our multi-faceted system requires the WST to take a holistic, big picture approach while not losing sight of key daily and weekly tasks.
Tasks vary throughout the year from daily and weekly water sampling, chemical handling, training supplementary staff, operating heavy equipment, preventative system maintenance, and assisting with capital improvement projects. While not a directly guest facing position, the role will interact with the public and have a profound effect on their experience at the USNWC.
Responsibility Details:
• Ensure the chemical levels remain within the parameters designated in the Recreational Whitewater System Operating Permit
• Log and maintain the written records required by the Operating Permit, including daily observations and testing, weekly testing and observations, as well as channel and system inspections.
• Perform calibrations on testing arrays and portable testing equipment
• Work with management to maintain trending data and assist in the analysis
• Work in conjunction with the Water Systems Manager to ensure PM scheduling is met and maintained
• Ensure auxiliary testing staff are trained on testing SOP’s and performing tests to spec
• Collaborate with team members to execute key projects and identify/solve potential future issues
