Job Description:

PURPOSE
This position is for assisting the Senior Director Regional Merchandising to develop, build and communicate strategies that will solidify the company as the industry leader in hard surface flooring. Position supports the Senior Director Regional Merchandising and assists in setting the strategy for multiple categories: product line reviews, space planning/allocation, report development, analysis, inventory management and overall organization and management of information. This multifunctional position will require extensive partnership with the company’s Merchandising, Supply Chain, Inventory and store teams.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support Senior Director Regional Merchandising
  • Work with Senior Director Regional Merchandising and Inventory team to improve turns and in stocks through forecasting, vendor management and overall product transitions
  • Work with Senior Director Regional Merchandising on margin analysis and margin maximization across all product categories
  • Run reports as needed for the Senior Director Regional Merchandising and analyze data
  • Work with Senior Director Regional Merchandising to set core product/pricing strategy as well as promotional strategies which include special purchases, new product launches, promotional pricing, etc.
  • Maintain special data needs as defined by the Senior Director Regional Merchandising
  • Assist and analyze in stock information for stores
  • Organize and/or reformat spreadsheet information received from Senior Director Regional Merchandising, Purchasing or Inventory teams
  • Gather merchandising data and other information; enter information into databases and produces reports
  • Files maintained and printed including daily/weekly/monthly reports and organize information for analysis by Senior Director Regional Merchandising
  • Conduct competitive shops in home market as well as regionally
  • Travel to local stores with Senior Director Regional Merchandising as needed
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with multi-constituents
  • Excellent analytical, decision making, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to effectively prioritize projects
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

  • Limited travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
