The role…

  • The primary purpose of this position is to provide interior design assistance to the Manger of Design Projects. As well as CH Opening Services, Owner & Portfolio Strategy Operations departments and Brand Management with the brand interior design package adoption for hotels that are new construction, conversion and renovations. This is necessary to maintain a high level of customer service to those opening, supporting and developing these brands. The expectation is to uphold an open level of communication, reduce response time and maintain milestones that are achieved. This is done through project management, collaboration and effective communication. This position possesses knowledge of commonly-used interiors concepts, practices, and procedures within the hospitality industry.

What you will do…

Process Management Support

  • Run weekly reports to track review activities, troubleshoot obstacles with meeting milestones and recommend corrective actions
  • Tracking and processing custom design fees
  • Monitor daily brand email boxes and hotlines
  • Assist Director on product development tasks as needed

Project Management Support

  • Oversee Signature brand interior design submittal review process for entire project life cycle of new construction and conversion hotels that are processed through Opening Services
  • Provide design direction during the review process
  • Review any PIP Signature brand interior design submittals
  • Maintain project database, project files and tracking file for monthly reporting
  • Manage tracking system for Signature brand interior design submittals of not yet opened projects by determining due dates based on pre-set milestones and estimated opening dates
  • Communicate project review status to all key stakeholders and arrange meeting (can be conference or in person) to resolve issues as needed
  • Assist Owners, GMs & Procurement companies through the management of email box, fielding phone calls or onsite meetings with various requests such as providing product information, vendor information, line drawings, PIP request, etc.

Skills you have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, or related field
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years relevant work experience, experience in the hotel or hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency of computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel; Photoshop and AutoCAD a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable knowledge of construction and prototype plans; furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) specifications; and interior design cost module
  • Strong competency skills in customer service, decision-making, analysis and problem solving, priority setting and time management
  • Must be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational ability
  • High integrity and ability to work independently

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time
