Unit Description

Sodexo Leisure is seeking a General Manager 3 for the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center in Virginia Beach, VA. The position will be responsible for all on-site food operations including unique dining, concessions, catering and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the culinary operations of full service cafe, concessions and cart sales and high end catering in a venue of at least $2M annual F&B revenues
  • Excellent Customer service oriented, able to go above and beyond for the guest and client, professional and good communication skills
  • Handle day-to-day operations including training, scheduling, financial reporting, client relations, and employee development.

You are/have:

  • Ability to demonstrate excellence in client and customer satisfaction, team motivation, knowledge of food trends and a passion for delivering outstanding quality in food and service.
  • Real passion for delivering superb guest service, food quality, safety, and providing a positive and professional work environment.
  • Experience with inventory, ordering, safety, staffing, schedule, payroll & food production exp., knowledgeable with food and labor cost
  • Experience hiring, training and leading a team of 30+ employees
  • Prior experience in complex project management. Handling renovations/ build out etc.
  • Familiarity with computer programs, scheduling software, financial & payroll systems, Kronos, E-Vision & Microsoft Office
  • Experience creating budgets and running the business accordingly
  • Proven ability to manage multi-outlets in a seasonal venue such as a Zoo, Aquarium, Amusement Park or other indoor/outdoor public venue

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client accountProvides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.Key Duties- Provides team leadership & training- Controls unit financials- Directs daily food operations for quality & safety standards- Supervises day to day activities - Delegates authority- Assigns & prioritizes activities- Monitors operating standards- Establishes a safe work environment- Support workplace inclusion activities
