AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager for immediate employment in the Meridian, Idaho office. The appropriately qualified applicant will have demonstrated experience in project management, roadway design, intersection design, supervising roadway designers and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates.

The candidate can look forward to exciting projects including:

  • Interchange reconstruction projects

  • Interstate and highway reconstruction projects

  • High profile alternative delivery projects

  • Rural and urban resurfacing projects

  • Intersection and safety improvement projects

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead engineering teams consisting of entry level engineers and technicians to develop roadway design plans for transportation projects for the Idaho Transportation Department, Ada County Highway District and other local agencies

  • Perform business development and marketing activities to current and potential clients in order to generate future business

  • Oversee the work of engineers and technicians to ensure quality design work consistent with current applicable ITD, AASHTO, and local policies and guidelines

  • Direct project tasks including delegating, mentoring, training, and supervising less-experienced staff

  • Assist with project scoping and budget development for complex and high-profile roadway design projects

  • Communicate with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and the public

  • Manage innovative transportation projects including financial, schedule, and design task management to deliver high quality plans

  • Assist with development of marketing strategies for targeted projects and clients within Idaho

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school

  • 10+ years of experience working on transportation projects

  • Idaho PE license, or ability to get comity

  • Ability to scope/estimate complex roadway projects

  • Ability to track and manage project budgets and schedules

  • Ability to supervise entry level engineers

  • Spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software skills

  • Thorough understanding of ITD guidelines/procedures/plan preparation

  • Must be able to thrive in a team environment

  • Must have excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas related to highway geometric design, intersection design, utilities, construction phasing, earthwork, drainage and streetscape

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

  • This position requires successful completion of the AECOM Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the AECOM Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee

Preferred Qualifications

  • Positive client relationships with ITD, ACHD, LTHAC and other local agency clients

  • Local experience on transportation projects within Idaho

  • Experience managing high-performing multi-disciplinary design teams

  • Leadership skills to develop engineers and project managers

  • A seller and doer motivated to leverage AECOM's capabilities to maximize our impact within the Idaho market
