Sodexo's universities segment is seeking a dynamic Chef Manager for our premiere account at Lynn University. Lynn University is a small private university located 20 miles South of Palm Beach and 25 miles north of Ft. Lauderdale, in Boca Raton, Florida. Lynn University is a private university in beautiful Boca Raton, Florida. Founded in 1962, its students come from all over the USA and approximately 80 other nations: 24% of students have citizenship in countries outside the United States. This accredited University is nationally ranked for its innovative Dining program featuring the Elmore Dining Commons, a 24-hour resident dining facility, and multiple retail accounts: Christine's Bistro and the Perper Coffee House. We oversee dining services including resident dining in a brand new, state of the art dining facility, retail, concessions and catering. This Chef Manager will support all the operations on campus. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee a staff size of approximately 30+ Sodexo hourly associates in a non-union environment. Typical Shift is 6pm - 4am for Residential Dining.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • manage food costing, controls and compliance;
  • develop menus and manage inventory;
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees;
  • have a passion for food and innovation;
  • have knowledge of special diets and allergens; and
  • knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred.

The ideal candidate has:

  • a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
  • previous experience working in a high-volume facility; and
  • strong management skills.

Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables. May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

Key Duties- Executes the culinary function.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Handles administrative functions.

Qualifications & Requirements
