Providence is calling a Emergency Department Crisis Counselor (Per Diem, Variable Shift) to work in the Social Work Emergency Room at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
In this position you will:
* Apply knowledge, skills and behaviors in the physician, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.
* Maintain Emergency Department Social Workers -- work log.
* Develop and implement appropriate discharge plans for mental health and chemically dependent patients to insure a smooth and appropriate transition to the next level of care.
* Communicate orally and in writing in the chart with other team members and disciplines so as to insure that discharge needs and plans can be understood and executed by others as appropriate.
* Maintain current knowledge of community resources, how to access them, and the regulations for access to them.
* Participate in multi-disciplinary case conferences as requested to improve the coordination of care for patients who have frequent recurring visits to the Emergency Department or other areas of the medical center and/or community provided services.
* Provide psycho/social evaluations, plan to address the issues identified, and implement needed interventions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
* Masters Degree in Social Work or related field of study
* Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marital and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor or Independent Clinical Social Worker
* Experience in social work and crisis interventions in a hospital or acute treatment setting
* Experience with both involuntary and voluntary psychiatric hospitalization
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
* Experience as a Chemical Dependency Counselor or an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor
