Function Overview

Currently seeking a Manager, Industrial Engineering for our Clyde, OH location, which is where Whirlpool's Washing Machines are manufactured. This individual will have an active role on a World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Pillar Team: Focused Improvement (FI), Workplace Organization (WO), and/or Logistics & Customer Service (LCS) Pillars. The position will actively participate in Pillar team meetings, master plan implementation, and the development of kaizens. The Industrial Engineering Manager has a leadership role in the following activities:

  • Lead a team of industrial engineers and technicians
  • Identify loss reduction projects based on World Class Manufacturing Cost Deployment, Quality, and Safety Matrices
  • Stratify losses to prioritize and select proper tools to reduce losses
  • Train team members in proper methodologies and tool usage to attack losses
  • Lead cross-functional teams in identifying the root cause of problems and lead teams in loss reduction projects
  • Maintain labor routers/standards for profit planning process, cost reduction opportunities, and day-to-day activities
  • Manage the mini-bill system to determine the sequence of assembly operations
  • Participate in new product design events to determine appropriate assembly sequence and provide insight into how to minimize labor requirements
  • Participate in the development of factory master plan strategies to improve the process, material, and information flows

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 5 + years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years supervising experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong understanding of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies and tools in a large manufacturing environment:
  • Specifically, Focused Improvement (FI), Workplace Organization (WO), and/or Logistics & Customer Service (LCS) Pillars

  • Proven experience leading continuous improvement projects that eliminate the root causes of problems
  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution, and team building skills
  • Outstanding organization, communication, and leadership skills
  • Comfortable relating to all levels of an organization
  • Proficient in Google Tools
