Part-Time Cashier – Exeter NH Arjay Ace Hardware is currently seeking part-time Cashiers for after school and one weekend day at our store in Exeter, NH. About the Position:At Arjay Ace, Cashiers represent the front line in making the customers shopping experience a pleasant one. The Cashier is accountable for processing all transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. Cashier’s play a fundamental role in achieving customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives. Responsibilities include:•Engaging customers in every way; greet customers as soon as they are encountered•Perform all steps in the checkout process including: scanning and bagging items at a rate that meets store requirements and processing accepted forms of payment, Issue receipts, refunds or change due to customers•Reconcile cash drawer daily•Handle customer complaints with integrity and poise, and, when necessary, refer dissatisfied guests to the appropriate individuals for resolution•Maintains high ethical standards in all actions•Assist customers in the store as well as on the phone•Working closely with other staff to ensure that the store remains clean, well maintained and organized; including dusting, sweeping and mopping. Maintain awareness of promotions/advertisements in order to inform customers about special sales•Occasionally price products and make price changes What you need to succeed:We are passionate about finding the right talent that will embrace and exhibit our Core Values and provide an Amazing Customer Experience with Every Customer, Every Time! Our objective is to have total customer satisfaction!Minimum•Be at least 15 years old•Ability to count accurate change to ensure no overages or shortages of money•Ability to process transactions accurately and maintain an accurate cash drawer•Experience using a computer•Ability to multi-task using the register and answering the phone•Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members•Have a proven track record of being a team player•Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time•Clean and approachable appearance•Positive attitude•Passion for working with the public and helping customers•Availability must be flexible to the needs of the business •Customer satisfaction-oriented•Attention to detail and good mathematical skillsPreferred but, not required, we are willing to train•Experience in retail cashiering or sales•Familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, etc)•Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues, assisting customers in locating product, greeting customers, answering phones and building relationships with customers.
