About this job
The Maintenance Technician performs work involving plant and equipment maintenance of a semi-skilled nature. Installs, repairs, trouble shoot and maintains building and manufacturing equipment and plant facilities. Responsibilities include installing, repairing and maintaining production or tool room machines.
Repairs and maintains, in accordance with blue prints, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, equipment, injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment and stamping and processing equipment. Dismantles machines to gain access to and remove, replace and/or repair defective parts.
Examines machine parts and components to detect imperfections. Adjusts functional parts of these machine components to put using hand tools. Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices and machines, using hand tools. Starts devices and machines to test their performance. Lubricates and cleans parts. Initiate purchase order for parts and machines. May repair electrical equipment.
