What will I be doing?
Hilton is looking for a Business Systems Architect (BSA) who will act as a technology solutions designer. Your work will encompass supporting and implementing enterprise wide changes to financial systems. In this effort, you will work with several different architecture domains and IT disciplines as part of the Back Office Build team. We will depend on you as a critically important technical resource deployed within the context of business technology solution delivery projects to ensure overall stability and performance of our elite applications.
As a BSA at Hilton, you will oversee the architectural and technical mentorship for Back Office applications as well as the day-to-day activities for support vendors. You will drive technology specialists and vendors in deep-dive architecture reviews and make technical development & design decisions to ensure the optimal outcome. Using good technical expertise and analytical skills, you will work closely with business users, Enterprise Architects, Software Developers and multi-functional teams to assess the architectural impact of business requirements on underlying Hilton technology capabilities and platforms. This includes identifying risks and issues with mitigations.
As a Hilton Team Member in this role, you will:
- Set the financial systems architecture strategy (includes business architecture, application and product architecture, integration architecture, data architecture, and infrastructure architecture)
- Provide strategic leadership and expertise to IT in the development of a target, future-state enterprise architecture and supporting technology strategy. This includes strategy around the delivery of projects and initiatives
- Work with key partners to structure the resources and activities of the department or project so that objectives are accomplished
- Craft and maintain architecture standards, policies, and principles
- Approve architectural designs to ensure compliance with standards and policies
- Contribute subject matter knowledge at checkpoints in project and product approvals
- Support Solution Architect efforts to review and approve new vendors prior to contract signing and integration
- Understand, document, and describe complex technical subjects
- Lead internal and external partners in strategy / project initiation, architecture, requirements analysis, design, project management and systems integration activities
- Build effective partnerships with vendors, internal constituents and other groups to integrate solutions components such as custom architecture and enterprise information. This includes managing scope cost, timeline, and assessment of impact on architecture

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- BA/BS Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree plus a minimum of eight (8) years of application development and support experience or High School Degree/GED plus a minimum of twelve (12) years of IT related experience
- Seven (7) years of experience working across multiple core IT disciplines (e.g. solution development, ITSM, Infrastructure)
- Three (3) years of experience working with software development methodologies (e.g. Agile)
- Three (3) years of experience with MS SQL and .Net frameworks
- Two (2) years of project and/or supervisory management experience
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- BA/BS Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related discipline
- Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server
- One (1) year using Accounting principals
