Responsible to the General Manager for addressing all day to day maintenance issues within the restaurant (i.e., electrical, mill-work, painting, etc.).

Essential Functions:

PRE-STORE OPENING DUTIES: (if applicable)

  • Become familiarized with all systems within the restaurant, i.e., electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC systems;
  • Meet with local representatives and become familiar with kitchen equipment;
  • Following the departure of Development Department, supervise and coordinate the subcontractors' completion of the punch list, primarily electrical, flooring, wall work, and millwork.

NEW STORE OPENING:

  • Obtain bids/preventative maintenance contracts for kitchen equipment, sprinkler system, refrigerators, elevators, and HVAC systems;
  • Upon General Manager's approval, award contracts for monthly maintenance.

DAILY MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Walk through all kitchens in the a.m., address any malfunctions of kitchen equipment;
  • Conduct visual inspection of restaurant area, check that all light bulbs are working;
  • Maintain all painting and patching of interior and exterior of the restaurant (within reason). When additional help is needed, call in contractor, obtain quotes, make recommendations to General Manager;
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and repair or call contractors if additional help is needed;
  • Touch up nicks and chips in woodwork;
  • Ensure exterior is clean and presentable (windows, plaza area, etc.);
  • Conduct visual inspection of entire restaurant before end of shift.

COORDINATING SPECIAL EVENTS:

  • Ensure stages are set up;
  • Coordinate with the A/V department to set up lighting and microphones;
  • Obtain and arrange for red carpets or any other special needs for the event.

MAINTAIN MEMORABILIA CASES:

  • Disassemble memorabilia cases for cleaning crews once a month.

OFFICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Order and install all bulletin boards, counter tips, computer drawers;
  • Re-arrange office furniture as needed;
  • Oversee weekly pest control procedure; address any on-going problems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train, motivate, and evaluate all maintenance department employees;
  • Ensure all maintenance department employees comply with company policies, practices, and procedures; communicate changes to the same;
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Coach and counsel maintenance department employees whose performance is below expectations.
  • Report any and all policy and procedure non-compliance issues by maintenance department employees to the General Manager.

REPORTING:

  • Attend weekly Managers' Meeting to give and receive any relative maintenance updates;
  • Complete Monthly Maintenance Report, submit to General Manager and Human Resources Director;
  • Report any and all issues regarding contractors' work and performance to the General Manager.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sprinkler, security, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to utilize efficiently various hand, mechanical, and electrical tools (i.e., hammer cordless drill, torch, glue gun, mini-tools, etc.)
  • Good negotiating skills for dealing with vendors and contractors.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent prioritization skills, such as handling maintenance requests.
  • Excellent dexterity skills, such as the ability to distribute weight while crawling through dark duct work ceilings.
  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder to change light bulbs, touch-up paint, etc.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and standing.
  • Ability to conduct a site inspection.
  • Ability to manipulate and transfer items up to 75 pounds.
  • Scheduling flexibility, (i.e., the ability to work extended hours including nights and weekends).
