Job Description:

Purpose

This position is responsible for supporting Treasury operations by managing the Sales Audit function which performs reconciliation, operational support, and analysis for all customer payment methods; leading monthly close processes related to Sales Audit GL accounts including reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations; managing Sales Audit projects and strategies; and assisting with additional Treasury projects as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Manage a team of Sales Audit Accountants and Analysts to include managing performance, issuing discipline when necessary, and making decisions related to hiring and termination
  • Lead Sales Audit monthly close functions, including review and approval of GL journal entries and GL account reconciliations and resolution for all aged reconciling items
  • Review revenue reporting for accuracy and prepare various analyses as requested, to include recurring and ad-hoc analyses for other departments
  • Supervise and support operational efforts including Sales Audit interaction with store personnel, and provide guidance on proper procedures required to obtain transaction processing accuracy
  • Act as subject matter expert for all Sales Audit functions as needed and serve as a liaison between Sales Audit and other internal departments
  • Analyze operational and Accounting procedures related to all payment types on an ongoing basis; and create and implement process improvements as needed to foster an emphasis on quality, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Create and analyze reports and other metrics to better understand the current payments environment, identify patterns which may indicate areas of opportunity, and modify strategies to better address issues as they arise
  • Ensure proper internal controls are maintained including management of Standard Operating Procedures, process documentation, and audit narratives
  • Manage audit processes related Sales Audit accounts to include preparation and review of year-end audit work papers and responses to internal and external audit inquiries
  • Perform additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve assigned business objectives
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Three - five years of experience in Accounting and/or Sales Audit
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills with background in monthly close, account reconciliation, variance analysis and P&L review – retail experience preferred
  • Solid knowledge of consumer payments, including credit/debit cards, checks, and cash
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate level in Excel)
  • Self-starter with strong desire to succeed
  • Ability to make sound decisions within defined parameters to resolve customer, store, and internal inquiries
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with a focus on customer service and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the company

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with excellent planning and work prioritization skills and the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment

Physical/Sensory Requirements
