Purpose
This position is responsible for developing and building strategies that will maximize sales and profit in each individual company store. This position will work with the Chief Executive Merchant/General Manager, Senior Director Regional Operations and Merchandising Vice Presidents to set the space and local product mix strategy for each category for each store in their region. Responsibilities include sales, margin, and inventory management.

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Purpose
This position is responsible for developing and building strategies that will maximize sales and profit in each individual company store. This position will work with the Chief Executive Merchant/General Manager, Senior Director Regional Operations and Merchandising Vice Presidents to set the space and local product mix strategy for each category for each store in their region. Responsibilities include sales, margin, and inventory management.
major responsibilities
- Partner with Chief Executive Merchant/General Manager and Senior Director Regional Operations to determine appropriate product mix strategy by category in each store to best address individual store customer needs
- Develop space plans by category that addresses historical sales rates and strategies as defined by the company in total and the individual store
- Provide Merchandising Vice Presidents feedback and specifics for local store/market needs within each category to be sourced by the Merchandising Vice Presidents.
- Partner with Merchandising Vice Presidents at ongoing "buying" sessions to actually determine product mix and buy for each of their stores
- Manage profitability and NPI by working with individual stores and inventory team on transition plans and product exit strategies
- Occasionally source local product for specific store need or to fill in product gaps
- Partner with Chief Executive Merchants/General Manager and Merchandising Vice Presidents to develop market specific versions of print ads utilizing sales and assortment strategies in place
- Train and develop team to create career growth potential and instill accountability and team building best practices
- Prefer 3+ years of experience as Floor & Decor Chief Executive Merchant/General Manager
- Strategic thinker with proven experience of ability to recognize, influence and maximize trends in the market
- Successful track record of buying and inventory management experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Solid team management and development skills
- Must have strong analytical, decision making, planning, and organizational skills
- Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Occasional travel required including air and car travel
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
