Final Inspection

Our client was founded in 1988 and is the choice supplier for leading-edge companies in the medical, aerospace, defense, industrial and communication segments for electronics manufacturing services.

PURPOSE:

Inspect surface mount and through hole solderability using IPC standards to assure quality of product is produced and stop defects from being shipped to customers

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Inspect boards produced from hand or machine assembly processes as they are processed on the line or in a formal inspection area
  • Ensure that products meet all customer and regulatory requirements
  • Perform WIP transactions in SMARTer system to assure traceability of boards at all times
  • Log any defects into the SMARTer system as they are found
  • Communicate quality issues to the appropriate team, Manager and Engineer as needed
  • Stop work flow as needed to stop the repeated manufacture of defective products
REQUIREMENTS

KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Able to use a microscope for long periods of time
  • Able to work with extremely small and / or fragile components and tools for extended periods of time
  • Able to work with visual aids, complicated drawings, documentation and numbers
  • Able to cross-train and work in numerous areas
Required
  • 1 year inspection of printed circuit board assemblies
  • Basic PC skills
  • Ability to obtain J-STD and IPC Certification through Vanguard Training within 90 days
  • Knowledge of SMT, through-hole, wave and/or selective solder processes and/or equipment operation
EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Required
  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Preferred
  • IPC 610 CIS Certification
  • J-STD CIS Certification
  • Knowledge of conformal Coat and bonding a plus but not required
