AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Project Manager for immediate employment in the Charleston, SC office. Great opportunity for a emerging mid to senior engineer who is ambitious and looking for a unique growth opportunity!

The appropriately qualified applicant will have demonstrated experience in project management, roadway design, intersection design, interchange design, supervising roadway designers and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead engineering teams consisting of entry level engineers and technicians to develop roadway design plans for transportation projects for SCDOT and other SC municipalities

  • Oversee the work of engineers and technicians to ensure quality design work consistent with current SCDOT and AASHTO policies and guidelines

  • Assist with project scoping and budget development for roadway design projects

  • Participate in Client meetings and public meetings as part of transportation design project

  • Responsible for tracking budgets and schedules for roadway design tasks

  • Participate in Business Development Activities such as meeting with clients and potential clients, preparing proposals and attending functions

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school

  • 5+ years of experience working on transportation projects

  • Ability to scope/estimate complex roadway projects

  • Ability to Track and manage project budgets and schedules

  • Ability to supervise entry level engineers

  • Good computer skills using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Thorough understanding of SCDOT Guidelines/procedures/plan preparation

  • Must be able to work well in a team environment

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills

  • Diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas related to highway geometric design, intersection design, utilities, infrastructure, earthwork, drainage and streetscape

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • South Carolina PE

  • Thorough understanding of SCDOT Guidelines/procedures/plan preparation

  • Strong Design experience
