Job Description:

3M is seeking a Quality Team Advisor for the Consumer Business Group (CBG) Plant located in Hutchinson, MN. Here, you go.

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Quality Team Advisor will primarily be responsible for providing leadership, coaching, and direction to quality professionals. Shares / learns / adopts and adapts quality best practices. Assures that quality tools and methodologies are consistently used, effectively and efficiently, across the organization. Drives common and compliant quality processes throughout the organization. This includes developing solutions for complex and diverse issues requiring significant interpretation and the use of strong analytical skills. Applies extensive experience and knowledge of related and non-related precedents and policies.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Providing leadership, coaching, and direction to quality professionals to drive quality improvements.

* Identify and implement best practices in quality processes through the use of quality tools and methodologies.

* Apply a working knowledge of quality principles and statistics to direct / coach quality technicians.

* Oversee the maintenance and improvement of the 3M Quality Management Systems to ensure ongoing compliance to applicable International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards (ISO 9001, International Automotive Task Force-IATF 16949, Aerospace Standard-AS9100) and statutory and regulatory requirements.

* Working with sales force and customers on supplier surveys, inquiries and customer visits

* Develop and track metrics that support quality systems effectiveness.

* Direct reports in the training, improvement, and documentation of test methods.

* Effectively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve non-routine problems.

* Direct reports in support of resolution owners for incoming customer complaints, including assisting in identifying root cause, and implementing effective corrective actions.

* Support and coach the management of documentation, including Test Methods, Corrective Actions, Nonconforming Material, Management of Change, and other records as needed.

* Provides direct supervision to assigned employees through principal based leadership, coaching, training, development, allocating work assignment, review of progress in achieving objectives, performance appraisals, diversity, disability, all relevant employee data, etc. Understands and enforces corporate/location policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university

* Minimum of five (5) years combined manufacturing and/or quality experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university

* Minimum of one (1) year combined supervisory and/or managerial experience

* American Society for Quality certification (Quality Engineer-CQE and/or Manager of Quality Organizational Excellence-CMQ/OE and/or Quality Auditor -CQA) or willingness to obtain

* Knowledge and experience in Six Sigma, ISO, product quality control, quality assurance, in-coming quality and/or other quality systems, practices and theories.

* Knowledge of computer programs and corporate systems relevant to Quality

* Previous experience across multiple divisions, manufacturing locations, and job functions.

* Experience in leading and managing teams

Location: Hutchinson, MN

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic

Relocation: Is authorized
